Ultimate

The other day, I went to play a game of Ultimate Frisbee with some friends and friends of friends. When I got there, I wasn't sure what to expect. My ultimate playing at WFU was extremely competitive, with a majority of the people wearing cleats, everyone stretching and warming up, intense passes and catches, always running, and high energy.

This was...a little less intense. I was expecting a more laid back and friendly game of ultimate, whereas this was more like a 6/10 on the competitive scale. My girlfriend who came along was expecting a 3/10, which is what was described to me.

She left early, but that's OK. We ate at Fire Bowl for dinner. If we had been on the same team, she probably would have enjoyed the game a lot more. Things just go that way sometimes, I guess. At least she wasn't turned off of the game. But it could have gone better.

It was still fun for me.

Musings on 16-bit

I recently saw a comic relating to the Street Fighter series. I've always been more of a Mortal Kombat fan, but there is one response that I have to SF.

With that, I guess I should note that I still play too many video games. Currently, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero (3,4,M), SSB Brawl, MadWorld and other Wii games. But I feel accomplished because I did some touch-up painting on my Eldar and Tyranids. Good stuff.

Flawless victory.
